This Monday we want to talk about the importance of self-care and all of the different ways in which you can make sure you are practicing a healthy amount of self-care on yourself.
Why is it so easy for some of us to take care of others before we take care of ourselves? Unpopular opinion – practicing self-care does not mean that you are choosing yourself over your loved ones. It is the same thing as putting your own mask on in an airplane before helping anyone else with theirs. If you do not focus on yourself first every once in a while, you will not be at your best to help anyone else.
Self-care does not necessarily mean treating yourself to a full on spa day either (which hey no one would say no to!). Self-care can be as simple as setting some time aside for yourself to do something you do not often have the luxury to do. Self-care can be as simple as giving yourself a moment to take a deep cleansing breathe.
Whatever self-care may mean to you the important thing is you give yourself the love and care that you deserve and set time aside for yourself. Say it again with me “I deserve self-care!”
